Raju Mavani was a respected Indian film producer, director, writer, and actor known for his dynamic contributions to Hindi cinema. He began his career by establishing his own production house, Karam Jay Productions, under which he produced his first film Ilaaka (1989), starring Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, and Madhuri Dixit. The film was presented by veteran filmmaker Dulal Guha. He later launched another banner, Jayraj Productions, under which he produced Balwaan (1992), the debut film of Suniel Shetty, followed by the successful and emotionally impactful Imtihaan (1994), starring Sunny Deol, Saif Ali Khan, and Raveena Tandon. As a filmmaker, Raju Mavani directed four Hindi films — Surakshaa (1995), Ram Aur Shyam (1996), credited as Raju Mawani, Iski Topi Uske Sarr (1998), and Anuradha (2014). Notably, Raju Mavani once again made the film "Iski Topi Uske Sir" (1998) under the banner "Deepak Arts" to pay heartfelt tribute to his late brother Deepak Mavani. His other brother, Nitin Mavani, is also active in the film industry, known for his work in film production and distribution.
